The Theory of Continental Drift
-1910/ Wegner's hypothesis was that today's continents were once a single landmass, which he called Pangaea
-he supported his idea with the study of landforms, fossils and climates
-evidence of landforms
- said mountains were a result when landforms collided they crumpled up
-evidence from fossils
- found fossils common to each other on distant continents
- found fossils of tropical plants in a now- freezing island
-evidence from climates
- continents today have very different climates from many years ago

Scientists Reject Wegners theory
-couldn't prove how continents drifted
